What is CMYK printing?
All products are printed
and cut by huge multi-million dollar presses using the "four
color" or "CMYK" printing process with full bleed.
The four color process is an industry standard printing process
and the results can be seen at any news or magazine stand.
CMYK actually stands for
the four colors used in this printing process. C is Cyan, M is
Magenta, Y is Yellow, and K is for 'Key,' the term printers use
for Black ink.
CMYK printing can reproduce
most color photographs exceptionally well. A full color photograph
is scanned and processed with software to create four 'color separations,'
-- one for each of the colors. 'Plates' are made from each of
the separations which are loaded onto the press. The printer runs
ink through the press and the result is your full color printed
image.
